PFAS
Satellite Well Connection to PFAS Treatment Facilities: Ground Water from satellite wells require treatment for PFAS prior to entering the distribution system. Raw water mains are being installed from these various satellite wells to PFAS Treatment Facilities (currently under construction). Connecting satellite wells are an important part of the PFAS Treatment Master Plan. The current raw water main construction contracts are described below:
- Raw Water Mains - Contract No. 1 - Underground Utilities was awarded the contract and is in its final stages of project completion. The Contract includes installation of raw water mains to connect Irving and Stevens Wells (Ridgewood) to the Prospect PFAS Treatment Facility (Glen Rock). The Prospect Treatment Facility is scheduled to be online by August 2025.
- Raw Water Mains - Contract No. 2 - Underground Utilities was awarded the contract and is in its final stages of project completion. The Contract includes installation of raw water mains to partially connect College Well (Midland Park) and Farview Well (Ridgewood) to the Wortendyke PFAS Treatment Facility (Midland Park); and partially connect Lafayette Well (Wyckoff) to the Cedar Hill PFAS Treatment Facility (Wyckoff). The Contract was expedited to get ahead of paving schedules by the municipalities and by Bergen County.
- Raw Water Mains - Contract No. 3 - This construction contract includes installation of raw water mains that will connect offsite wells to two PFAS treatment facilities, Ames (Wyckoff) and Wortendyke (Midland Park). The treatment facilities are scheduled to be online in 2026.

East Ridgewood and West End PFAS Treatment Facilities:
Ridgewood contractor, Sovereign Consulting is currently constructing two new PFAS Treatment Facilities at the East End and West End locations in Ridgewood. The work includes the construction of a raw water main to connect Glen Rock Well in Glen Rock, along portions of Doremus Avenue, Ackerman Avenue, Bellair Road, Lincoln Avenue and West End Avenue.
Prospect PFAS Treatment Facility:
Ridgewood Water's contractor CMS Construction Inc. is constructing a PFAS Treatment Facility in Glen Rock.

Ames PFAS Treatment Facility:
Ridgewood Water's contractor, Copolla Services is constructing a PFAS Treatment Facility in Wyckoff.

Ravine PFAS Treatment Facility:
Ridgewood Water's contractor Pac Two is constructing a PFAS Treatment Facility in Ridgewood.

Carr/Linwood Treatment Facility:
Ridgewood Water's contractor, Conquest is constructing upgrades to allow treatment if the Linwood Well at the existing Carr Treatment Facility
in Ridgewood.

Water Main Replacements
Eastside Water Main: Contractor installing new water distribution mains in the vicinity of Eastside Reservoir and Pump Station and future site of Eastside PFAS Treatment Facility. Initial work included 6,000 linear feet of new 8” ductile iron pipe will replace existing aging water mains, with a project cost of $2.67M. Note that a subsequent project, anticipated for later 2025, will be to construct the Eastside PFAS Treatment Facility and install Raw Water Mains connecting E. Saddle River Well and Salem Well with the new facility. Additional water mains identified for replacement due to material, age, size, amounted to 3,000 linear feet of main replacement needed to optimize distribution in the area of the new Eastside PFAS Treatment Facility.
