William “Bill” Bierwas joined Ridgewood Water in 2016. However, this was far from his first foray into the water industry. Bill started his career as an 18 year old working for Ringwood DPW. He began by painting fire hydrants. He then worked his way up to the distribution crew, before becoming a Licensed Treatment Plant Operator. Perhaps most importantly, he took the next step of setting out to obtain his water and treatment licenses. Bill’s career has been a constant ascent, not by chance, but by hard work and dedication. He currently holds his W4 and T3 licenses, is one of the youngest license holders in the state of New Jersey, and is the current licensed operator for Ridgewood Water. Bill has served as Assistant Superintendent for Ridgewood Water for four years and Superintendent for the last five years, that is until his recent promotion to Deputy Director! Bill epitomizes what it means to be a public servant, and his experience, knowledge and friendship with the staff is invaluable. Congratulations!
