All customers in Ridgewood Water’s service area should have received, or will be receiving shortly, a non-emergency notice about the levels of perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) in the drinking water supply.

For the past few years, Ridgewood Water has sought to educate our customers about the presence of Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), a class of contaminants to which the compound PFOA belongs. Please visit the PFAS Resources page under the Resources menu on the Ridgewood Water website for additional information.

Ridgewood Water is planning to host two virtual information events specifically regarding PFOA/PFAS in the coming weeks. Please check the Ridgewood Water website for updates and scheduling. If you have questions, please contact the Ridgewood Water Treatment Division at (201) 670-5526 or Customer Service at (201) 670-5520. Thank you.

*Please note that PFAS concentrations are measured in parts per trillion (ppt), not parts per billion (ppb), as specified in this notice.
