Statement on RW's actions to ensure the health and safety of our drinking water - 2/26/19

Print

We have a responsibility to protect our drinking water supply from exposure to and contamination with toxic PFAS, and yesterday's filing is just one step of many that we are taking towards fulfilling that responsibility.  The companies that knowingly sold and promoted these products - despite recognizing that they would impact our drinking water - must be held accountable for the costs we will incur to remove them, and that is what this lawsuit is all about.

Our RW action plan, shared via webinar and at the Village of Ridgewood Council meeting on September 12, 2018, identified as a key action step that we would “Determine sources of the contamination and seek funding from responsible parties.”  Yesterday's filing delivers on that commitment.  For more information, please visit our web site to learn about our monitoring of water quality for the presence of PFAS, frequently asked questions, background information and updates on our efforts to address this issue and keep our customers informed every step of the way.
